Abstract

Nutrient solutions at varying concentrations were evaluated to determine their influence on yield parameters in Kinnow mandarin. The experiment was conducted on eleven-year-old trees at the Department of Horticulture, CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana, India. Foliar applications of the respective nutrient treatments were administered during the last week of February and again in the last week of April, in accordance with standard agronomic practices. The results of present study showed significant increase in fruit length and breadth with foliar application of nutrients. On the basis of overall performance of treatments on yield characters of fruits, it can be concluded that the values for number of flowers per twig, initial fruit set, final fruit retention, fruit length, fruit breadth, fruit weight, number of fruits per plant and yield and number of seeds per fruit have been obtained maximum under potassium sulfate 2%, while the minimum fruit drop with zinc sulfate 0.4%.
