Abstract
A field experiment was conducted at the Instructional Farm, Dr. B.R. Choudhary Agricultural Research Station, Mandor, Jodhpur (Rajasthan), during the kharif season of 2024 to study the “Effect of New Generation Herbicide on Weed and Quality Parameter of Groundnut [Arachis hypogaea (L.)]”. A randomised block design (RBD) was used with ten treatments, including different pre- and post-emergence herbicides, as follows: T1- Diclosulam 25 g/ha (PE) + Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl @ 78 g/ha at 20 DAS, T2- Fomsafen 11.1% + Fluazifop-p-butyl 11.1% EC @ 230g/ha at 20 DAS, T3- Propaquizafop 2.5 % + Imazethapyr 3.75 % w/w @ 125 g/ha at 20 DAS, T4- Aciflourfen sodium 16.5% + Clodinofop-propargyl 8% EC @ 180g/ha at 20 DAS, T5- Fomesafen 12% + Quizalofop ethyl 3% SC @ 150g/ha at 20 DAS, T6- Imazethapyr 35% + Imazamox 35 % WG @ 50 g/ha at 20 DAS, T7- Topramezone 33.6% SC @ 20.6 g/ha at 20 DAS, T8-Pendimethalin 30% + Imazethapyr 2% EC @ 750 g/ha pre-emergence, T9- Weed free, T10- Weedy check. Among these herbicides, Fomsafen 11.1% + Fluazifop-p-butyl 11.1% EC @ 230g/ha at 20 DAS recorded the lowest weed density and weed dry weight and the highest weed control efficiency. Furthermore, higher protein and oil contents were recorded with T2- Fomsafen 11.1% + Fluazifop-p-butyl 11.1% EC @ 230g/ha at 20 DAS, closely followed by propaquizafop 2.5% + imazethapyr 3.75% w/w @ 125 g/ha; fomesafen 12% + quizalofop ethyl 3% @ 150 g/ha and aciflourfen sodium 16.5% + clodinofop-propargyl 8% EC @ 180 g/ha, compared with the weedy check.
