Dr. Emmanuel Ayipio is a Ghanaian horticultural scientist at CSIR-Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI) in Tamale, Ghana, specializing in aquaponics, hydroponics, and sustainable agriculture. Formerly a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Auburn University, his research focuses on optimizing crop yields through integrated systems. His meta-analysis comparing aquaponic and hydroponic methods is widely referenced, and his Ph.D. demonstrated efficient use of fish wastewater for cucumber cultivation and pine bark as a sustainable substrate. Recently, he has explored "Split-Root" techniques for growing crops in poor water quality and improved food security through intercropping studies. Dr. Ayipio has presented internationally and is a member of both the American Society of Horticultural Sciences and the Ghana Institute of Horticulturists.
