Dr. Mutari Abubakari

He holds a PhD in Horticulture from the University for Development Studies, Ghana (2019). He also holds a MSc in Food Safety and Quality Management from the University of Greenwich, UK (2010) and a BSc In Agriculture from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana (2001). He is currently a Senior Research Scientist with the CSIR – SARI stationed in Nyankpala in Tamale. He is also the Coordinator for the Research Extension Farmer Linkage Committee (RELC) for the Northern region as well as the Focal person for the RELCs. He is a member of the Ghana Institute of Horticulturist (GhIH) and a Coordinator for CSIR-SARI. He has several refereed journals and other extension communication materials to his credit. He has trained several farmers and farmer-based organisations (FBOs), in improved agronomic practices, climate change adaptation strategies and postharvest handling of durable and perishable crops. He has also offered consultancy services to some local and international organisations. His areas of research interest include food safety and quality management, pre-harvest activities affecting postharvest quality (Tillage, Soil and Water Management, Integrated Soil Fertility Management), On-farm adaptive Research and vegetable production.
